January 26: Act on Your Faith
James 2:14-26
James 2:14-26
Faith and Works
(Genesis 15:1-7; Romans 4:1-12; Galatians 3:1-9; Hebrews 11:8-19)
14What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him? 15If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, 16And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit? 17Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
18Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. 19Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. 20But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? 21Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar? 22Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect? 23And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God. 24Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only. 25Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she had received the messengers, and had sent them out another way? 26For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.
Note/Prayer
Father God Yahweh, in the Mighty Name of Jesus, I come boldly to the Throne of Grace, that I may obtain mercy and grace in time of need {Hebrews 4:16 KJV}.
Father God, I have need of faith and works. I submit to You Father, surrender to You Lord Jesus, and yield to You Beloved Holy Spirit, all that I am, and all that I have, including the fears, the doubts, the limitations, the hindrances and setbacks, the lies, and all that which is preventing me from fully walking in faith and works.
Let Your Grace be with me in the times I need to move in faith and works, always. Let the Power of Your Spirit move upon the powers, within and without, that prevents me from walking by faith and by works. Let Your Blood rise up against them, and undo their assignment, FOREVER, inJesus' Name.
Beloved Holy Spirit, I yield to You. Teach, equip, enable, and empower me to "walk by faith and not by sight" {2 Corinthians 5:7}, and to move by works, believing and trusting, that it is "not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit saith the LORD of hosts" {Zechariah 4:6 KJV}. Justify faith and works in me, for Your Word says "I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me" {Galatians 2:20} I believe it is done, by faith and by works, I receive it, and I thank You, in Jesus' Mighty Name. Amen!!! (C) pflb 1/26/23
Pastor Andrew Teaches on "Act on Your Faith"
On December 30, 1973, I hurt my back very badly. I experienced excruciating pain and couldn’t straighten up. I could barely talk, and my shoulder blades were nearly touching each other. It was the night before I was to be ordained into the ministry, and all I could think about was what a terrible testimony this would be at my ordination.
I prayed in faith that I was healed, and then I began to resist the pain and the devil by acting on my prayer of faith. I did push-ups, deep-knee bends, bent over and touched my toes, and anything else I didn’t feel like doing. There was improvement, but I didn’t have a total release. I took a shower and was washing my hair to get ready for the service. It hurt terribly to bend my head under the spout, but I knew I was healed and was determined to act like it. In between the first and second rinse, all the pain left, and I was completely normal.
Note: this is walking by faith and not by sight, doing what you know you ought to do even if you don't feel like doing it, this is works. You resist, renounce and reject that which is holding you back. You rebuke it and command it to go. Command the mountain to remove itself and cast itself into the sea. Listen to worship music. Ask for believers to pray for you. PRAY! BELIEVE! RECEIVE! And do it all in the Mighty Name of Jesus!!!
Pastor Andrew continues on his teaching on "Act on Your Faith"
Imagine a person in a burning building. They believe they will die if they don’t get out of the building, but they just sit there. That is crazy, isn’t it? Likewise, faith without the proper action isn’t genuine faith at all. We must act according to what we are believing. In my case, I needed healing in my back, so I used my back as though I was already healed-because I was!
Note: Pastor Andrew believed he was healed, even though he was in pain, because of this promise in Isaiah 53:5 God gave to believers.
Isaiah 53:5 "But He {Jesus} was wounded for our transgressions {sins}, He {Jesus} was bruised for our iniquities {evil doings}: the chastisement of our peace was upon Him {Jesus}; and with His {Jesus'} stripes {the scars on HIs body from being beaten before He was hung} we are healed {some books say "we were healed" meaning healing has already been provided, all we have to do is ask for it which requires faith and works as Pastor just demonstrated}.
Pastor Andrew continues his teaching on "Act on Your Faith"
People who say they believe God for prosperity, but don’t give, are deceiving themselves. A person who says, “I’m healed,” but continues to act sick and dwell on their symptoms, is killing whatever faith they have. A person who intercedes for someone and then worries whether anything will ever happen is not acting in faith. True biblical faith must be acted upon. Therefore, act on what you believe today.
Note: Wow! What a powerful teaching.
Prayer: So help me God. Lord, "I do believe; help my unbelief" {Mark 9:24}, in Jesus' Mighty Name. Amen!!! (c) pflb 1/26/2023
