January 11: The Just Live by Faith
Habakkuk 2:1-4
Habakuk 2:1-4
The Lord Answers Again
1I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and will watch to see what he will say unto me, and what I shall answer when I am reproved.
2And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.
Note: Here Almighty God is saying we should have a vision {goals}, we should write them down to look at them often. As we do, He guides us and orders our steps: Psalm 37:23 "23The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way".
3For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it {Note: Here He is telling us to hold unto our dreams, even though they may take a long time}; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.
4Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith.
This is the passage Pastor Andrew is teaching on
Habakkuk 2:4
King James Version
Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith.
Amplified Version
“See, the enemy is puffed up {Note: puffed up = egotistic, high-and-mighty, know-it-all, on an ego trip, overbearing, self-important, smarty-pants, stuck up, superior, etc}.; his desires are not upright {Note: means his desires are not in alignment with the will of God, or the ways of Christ. What he/she is doing is not pleasing to God}— but the righteous {righteous = ethical, honorable, spiritual, law-abiding, etc.} person will live by his faithfulness —" {Note: the Bible says that believers are the righteousness of Christ. Righteousness is a gift to the believer through Christ}.
Note: If you find yourself in this place, we all have - unconsciously, unawares: through ignorance Jesus said, "my peaple suffer for lack of knowledge" - Hosea 4:6}, be honest with yourself, and do what God wants you to do. He knew we were going to be in this place. Why do you think He came and died for us? He has been here. He knows how it is. He can relate.
Note: Be quick to know the devil is trying to devour/use you. He is very sneaky. You may have opened the door some how. It could be anger, annoyed by something someone said that keeps dominating your mind and focus, distractions, worries, depression, fear, doubt, suspicions that repeat themselves over and over,, etc.?, usually some negativity, and you keep repeating the negative statement in your head, or you keep repeating what you could have done, the thought keeps pounding on your mind, it wont go away, etc.} and he has come in/or he is trying to come in. I am sure you have heard this statment before, where your mind goes your energy goes. The enemy will "steal, kill, and destroy" {John 10:10} your energy if you take your mind where he is trying to devour you. The mind is the battle ground. {1 Peter 5:8 "Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour"}.
Note: Sober does not only apply to being drunk or high on drugs, it also means being aware of your surrounding, what's going on around you, in your life. It means being alert, on point, serious {for what the time/moment/season calls for: {Read Ecclesiastes 3:1-11}. /
Sober also means to be controlled {by Yah/God}, etc. I like this one, it means to be self-possessed. It is awesome to possess yourself from destruction, from the negative noise in your head, from anything {negative and destructive} controlling you instead of you being in control of it. This opens the door to allow the devil to devour you}.
And also being in control of what goes in your body which is God's Temple. Because if your temple is out of balance, you are out of balance. It would be difficult for God to dwell in it {your body}. He is Holy.
Note: Galatians 2:20 says "I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me".
Note: Remember, when all these things are going on, take a deep breath, and call for Divine help. Say "I submit to God, I resist you devil, flee from me now, in the Mighty Name of Jesus". And I replace you with the Spirit of God, in Jesus' Name", Why? Because you are a believer. You do not want the devil to use you, you want God to use you. Yielding to the will of the enemy is serving him. This is done, most of the time, unconsciously. The best question to ask yourself to check yourself is, is this pleasing to Father; would Jesus do this? Wait for your answer if you did not get it.
Pastor Andrew Teaches on Habakkuk 2:4
The just don’t use their faith occasionally or only when they’re in trouble. The just live by faith. This describes faith as a part of our life that is as essential as eating or breathing.
When my wife and I first started in ministry, we struggled financially. We often used the phrase “living by faith” to describe our condition. Indeed, it took a miracle each day to eat, pay bills, or buy gas for our car. Even though our faith has grown to a level where we walk in blessings and don’t have to use our faith to receive food each day, we still live by faith. Our faith is what enables us to relate to God and thereby minister to others, which in turn produces finances to meet our needs. Our whole life is consumed with faith!
You don’t have to be a minister to live by faith. Everyone needs to fellowship with the Lord daily, which takes faith. We need to recognize God as our Source, and not rely only on our jobs {Note: this is kind of where I am now because I am working so much and it is a struggle to make it. So I started walking by faith. God gives me a plan, and I am learning to stick with it even though it might be difficult and challenging. But faith tells me to continue doing what Gad has orderd my steps to do, and in due time, "Supply all my needs according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus" Philippians 4:19}. Pastor Andrew continues: We need to depend on Him to handle the pressures of family and work that confront us every day. We need to walk in faith not just for ourselves but also for others. The people we encounter each day need the Lord.
{Note: Wow! We all have to go through walking by faith and trusting and believing in God's promises. This appears to me that it is a fundamental basic elementary conditioning, or mindset if you will. Because even the believers before us, like Pastor Andrew, had to go through it. That was a testimony he just shared with us. That was the beginning of him and his wife's ministry. If they can do it, so can we. Because God is not a "respecter of persons".
Note: Acts 10:33-35 "Good News for Gentiles
33So I sent for you immediately, and you were kind enough to come. Now then, we are all here in the presence of God to listen to everything the Lord has instructed you to tell us.” 34Then Peter {a Jew, one of the first believers} began to speak: “I now truly understand that God does not show favoritism, 35but welcomes those from every nation who fear Him and do what is right.… {Wow! Thank You Jesus!}You have other people’s miracles on the inside of you that can only be released as you live by faith. Make a conscious decision to live by faith today. If all your needs are met, believe God to help someone else. As you practice living by faith daily, your faith will grow. And then when you’re in need, you’ll be ready to receive by faith. The just live by faith.
