February 8: He Loved Us First

1 John 4:7-21

1 John 4:7-21

Love Comes from God     (Note: Amen!)

7Beloved, let us love one another, because love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. 8Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.

Note: verse 7 "7Beloved, let us love one another, because love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God".

This seems impossible, but doable.  This is one of the hardest things to do as humans.  The reason being is that we we are so wounded from life's experiences and the enemy has us where he wants us.  All he wants is our souls, which consists of our mind, will power, and emotions.  These are door ways to one's soul, another doorway is your eyes, AND your heart.  You can see the relation with your emotions.  But by the Love of God, through Yeshua/Jesus/Isa, it is possible.  LOVE (JESUS) CONQUERS ALL!  God's Love is unconditional.  Only through His Love (Jesus) are we able to love one another.

9This is how God’s love was revealed among us: God sent His one and onlyc Son into the world, so that we might live through Him. 10And love consists in this: not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son as the atoning sacrificed for our sins.

Note

Verse 9: the manifestation of Jesus in the world; and for most of us, it is impossible to go through this life without Jesus ( this is a revelation of God's promise in Galatians 2:20 "I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me".

Verse 10: Yeshua/Jesus/Isa became the 'atoning sacrifice" wherein, we no longer need to shed animal blood as a sacrifice to God as was done in the Old Testament, and still being done in Africa, and other parts of the World.  Now that is Love: God sacrificing Himself, for me and you.  I'll say that there is no sacrifice more powerful than that.

11Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. 12No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God remains in us, and His love is perfected in us. 13By this we know that we remain in Him, and He in us: He has given us of His Spirit. 14And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent His Son to be the Savior of the world.  (Note: My God!  Wow!)

Prayer

Father God, touch my life, my heart, my eyes, my senses, and my soul, every part of me that has been polluted by spiritual lies, known and unknown to me.  Let Your blood that was shed cleanse me.  Let your blood rise up against all evil, and undo all lies that is holding me in bondage, preventing me from knowing the Truth which shall set me free.  Open everything the enemy has closed on my body, which is your temple (1 Corinthians 6:19-20 "19What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own20For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.), and on my soul which You love, and my life which you died so I may live.  I surrender all to you.  I believe it is done, I come into agreement, I receive it, and I thank You,  in Yeshua's/Jesus'/Isa's Mighty Name I pray.  Amen... 15If anyone confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God. 16And we have come to know and believe the love that God has for us. God is love; whoever abides in love abides in God, and God in him. 17In this way, love (Jesus) has been perfected among us, so that we may have confidence on the day of judgment; for in this world we are just like Him.

18There is no fear in love, but perfect love drives out fear, because fear involves punishment. The one who fears has not been perfected in love. 19We lovee because He first loved us.

20If anyone says, “I love God,” but hates his brother, he is a liar. For anyone who does not love his brother, whom he has seen, cannot love God, whom he has not seen. 21And we have this commandment from Him: Whoever loves God must love his brother as well.

1 John 4:19

We love him, because he first loved us.

Pastor Andrew Wommack teaches on "He Loved Us First"

It’s amazing how we miss the truth of this simple and straightforward scripture. God doesn’t love us for what we do—we love God for what He’s done for us (Note: amen!). All error in spiritual matters hinges on this point.

Everything we do must be in response to God’s love, not to obtain it. Any good deed, regardless of its merit, can be rendered unacceptable to God if our motives are to obtain His favor through what we do (Note: wow dude!). He doesn’t relate to us based on our performance. Praise Jesus! God commended His love to us while we were still sinners. (Rom. 5:8.) He loves us because He is love, not because we are lovable (Note: this is unconditional love).

Only when we appreciate this unearned, unmerited love of God can we truly love Him in return. God is love (1 John 4:8) and all love comes from Him (Note: Yes! Including the love, from our hearts, towards one another). Love doesn’t originate with us. We can only give love to the Lord and to others after we receive it from Him.  (Note: wow!  Praise the Lord, hallelujah.  Thank You Jesus!)

Relax! You don’t have to force yourself to love God. All you need to do is focus your attention on how much He loves you. As you begin to explore the depths of His love for you today, you will automatically begin to love Him in return. It’s inescapable. Instead of focusing on what you should be doing for the Lord, focus on what He’s already done for you. Then love and appreciation will flow freely from your heart toward your loving Father.  (Note: so beautiful!)

Prayer

Father God, help me relax.  I yield to Your Spirit to enable me not to force myself to love You, but to focus my attention on how YOU love me.  Beloved Holy Spirit, show me how to explore the depths of Father's (God's) Love for me today and every day, so that I may automatically begin to love Him in return.  Help me grasp the moment when it arrives.  Fill my heart, my soul, and my senses to always remember and focus on what You have done for me.  I now open all I am, and all I have, to receive and experience this love and appreciation to flow through me freely, from my heart to You.  I believe it is done, I come into agreement, I receive it, and I thank You, in Yeshua's/Jesus'/Isa's Mighty Name.  Amen!!!
