19: God’s Love Hopes

1 Corinthians 13:1-13

1 Corinthians 13:1-13

The Greatest Gift

1Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. 2And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 3And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body [a]to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing.

Note: in verse 3, it says "and though I give my body to be burned" makes me wonder if they are talking about cremation.  If you know the answer, please share.

4Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not [b]puffed up; 5does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked[c]thinks no evil; 6does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; 7bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.  (Note: I believe that these are attributes/characteristics of Jesus Christ).

8Love never fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away. 9For we know in part and we prophesy in part.  (Note: this last statement is to show that man does not know everything). 10But when that which is [d]perfect has come, then that which is in part will be done away.

Note: "that which is perfect" is referring to Jesus.  And I keep ignoring the second half of that sentence, for days now, and it won't go away.  I am going to put it all together here, with the help of the Holy Spirit💯: "But when that which is perfect (Jesus) has come (to you, to a situation, to a condition, to a place, to a family, to a relationship, to anything, etc.), then that which is in part (that which is incomplete) will be done away (will no longer be incomplete).  Praise the Lord Almighty!  This is when that Christian, that believer, THAT WHATEVER: situation, condition, etc.,  becomes this: Colossians 2:10 "And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power: (these guys are bad guys, they are the ones that make life difficult for humans.  Praise the Lord, thank You Yeshua/Jesus/Isa.  Hallelujah!  So we must invite Jesus Christ into everything, including and especially that which is incomplete.

11When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things. . 12For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known.

1 Corinthians 13:7

Hopeth all things.

Pastor Andrew Wommack teaches on "God's Love Hopes"

Hopelessness is a terrible thing. God’s Word says, “Where there is no vision, the people perish” (Prov. 29:18). Lack of hope is behind most, if not all, of the self-destruction we see in the lives of people today. Those who don’t have a strong faith in the future throw today away without any consideration of the consequences. The destructive habits of people are rooted in despair or hopelessness. Jesus used the fool who said, “Let’s eat, drink, and be merry (Luke 12:19) as an example of someone without vision for his future. Those who don’t live with one eye on the future are headed for disaster.

Note

Q:  What is a vision

A:  vision is a noun.  In this case, it is a mental image, fantasy, idea, imagination, understanding, view, discernment, farsightednedness, foreknowledge, intuition, etc..

Pastor Andrew Wommack continues his teaching on ""God's Love Hopes"

Why is it that most of society is without hope? It’s because God’s love is the source of true hope, and there’s a genuine famine in the world today of the truth of God’s love for us. On the whole, religion tells us of God’s holiness and our relative unworthiness, but the true love of God is not a reality in the hearts of most people—even most Christian people. Luck and fate don’t generate hope. Only knowing a personal-loving God is working all things for our good (Rom. 8:28) gives us true and lasting hope. God’s kind of love hopes all things.

Prayer

Father God, I repent of all the times I have doubted Your Love for me.  Thank You Jesus, for praying/intercessing to Father for me (us) on the cross, the day of Your crucifixion, to "forgive them (me) them Father, for they (I) do not know what they are doing" - Luke 23-34.  Thank You, thank You, thank You Jesus!!!

I come to You Lord, to rest in You from doubt, doubt in Elohim (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit), and doubt in the Truth that shall set me free, as it is written in -  John 8:32 "And you shall know the Truth (Jesus), and the Truth (Jesus) shall make you (me free". Doubt is a seed, a plant, a root that Father has not planted in me.  Lord, root it out by it's root so I may better serve you.

Father God, I yield to Your Spirit to teach, equip, enable, and empower me, to receive this grace, and walk in it, this day and forever, in the Mighty Name of Yeshua/Jesus/Esa.  Amen!!!  (c) pflb 2/19/2023.

Pastor Andrew Wommack continues his teaching on ""God's Love Hopes"

God has a perfect plan for your life (Jeremiah 29:11) . Regardless of where you are now—no matter how far off the track you may have strayed—God has a perfect course plotted for you to where you’re supposed to be. (Note: Jer. 29:11 American Standard Version "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope in your latter end".) He loves you in spite of what you have or haven’t done. As you believe this today, hope will spring up in your heart.

Prayer: Abba Father, spring up the well of Hope in me, in Jesus' Name.  Amen!!!
