NEW BEGINNING - NEW LIFE
SHABBAT SHALOM! We are in the Season of Rosh Hashanah which started on sundown of September 18, 2020, and ends on September 27, 2020. It will be the Hebrew Calendar's New Year 5781, the year of the mouth. I am assuming this Calendar year started 3760 BC. As Christians, Judiasm, which consists of the Old Testament, is the root of Christianism, probably Islam as well {Holy Spirit just now told me as I was proof-reading this paragraph, in connection with Abram/Abraham}. The New Testament is incomplete without the Old Testament. Likewise, the Old Testament is incomplete without the New Testament.
The Bible tells us that Yeshua/Jesus/Isa said in Matthew 5:17, "Do not think that I have come to abolish {end} the Law or the Prophets. I have not come to abolish them {Law and Prophets}, but to fulfill them {Law and Prophets}".
"Rosh Hashanah is the celebration of the Jewish New Year. It is the first of what we call the High Holidays (or High Holy Days), a ten-day period that ends with Yom Kippur--the holiest day of the Jewish year. On Rosh Hashanah, Jews from all over the world celebrate God's creation of the world."
On the 27th of September 2020, will be Yom Kippur, that also starts at sundown. This day is a day of atonement {deliverance, redemption, emancipation, release, etc.}. The LORD God commanded Moses to tell His people to afflict their souls this day, and offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD {Leviticus 23:27}. Vs 28: He commands "And ye shall do no work in that same day; for it is a day of atonement, to make an atonement for you before the LORD your God. Leviticus 23:27 decrees that Yom Kippur is a strict day of REST".
Let see what the Bible says about REST, shall we?
Isaiah 40:30-31
"Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."
So I believe, when we rest, Isaiah 40:30-31 happens to us. Thus the Sabbath! Man is suppose to work 6 days a week, and rest on the 7th day, like God. He created for 6 days and rested on the 7th.
Ephesians 4:22-24
"You were taught, with regard to your former way of life {life before we were born again}, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness" {new creation: 2 Corinthians 5:17}.
I am believing here, that when we do Ephesians 4:22-24, we REST in the LORD and He imparts in you: new attitude, new mind, righteousness, holiness, new mind, etc.
Romans 12:2
"Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is--good, pleasing and perfect will".
When you rest in the Lord, transformation takes place through Him renewing your mind. Then you become that person He has created you to be: pleasing God, in His perfect will.
Psalm 51:10-12
"Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain".
When we rest in the Lord, He creates in us a new heart; He puts a steadfast {faithful, true} spirit within us; We remain in His presence; He keeps His Holy Spirit with us; etc.
2 Corinthians 4:16
"Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day".
When we rest in God, even though we may be going through trials and tribulations, though it may look like we are a mess physically, but God is doing work in the background.
Matthew 11:28-29
"Come to me all ye who that are weary and heavy laden, and I'll give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
This is one of my favorite verses in the Bible, especially when I am going through so much. I take a vacation into Yeshua's/Jesus'/Isa's invitation in the above Scripture. I rest and I go to Him. I give him all my worries and concerns and ask Him to take them away from me; to deliver me from them so I may rest from them. And I take His Yoke {everything He went through when He was here on the earth} upon me to learn from Him. Because of His gentleness, His humbleness, I am able to find rest in Him, rest for my soul. {REMEMBER: all the devil wants is your soul, and Yeshua/Jesus/Isa wants to redeem it, heal it, etc.}.
Philippians 4:6-7
"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. and the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus".
Resting in the LORD cures your anxieties, fears, your mental issues, etc. {I believe you are able to connect your mind with the mind of the Christ} While you are in His presence, resting in Him, pray to him about anything, which is a form of conversation with Him; you can thank Him for all He has done for you and your loved ones, etc.; He will fill you with His Peace {one of the fruits of the Spirit: Ephesians 5:22-23}
Jeremiah 31:25
"I will refresh the wary and satisfy the faint".
Resting in the LORD refreshes you. Gives you a clean start of your week.
2 Corinthians 5:17
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come;"
The old has gone, the new is here!"
You actually can become like a new person by resting in the LORD. This is not an ordinary rest. It must be with a purpose: You are there to seek His presence, seek His face, and rest in Him.
Acts 3:19
"Repent, then and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord."
While you are resting in Him, things may come up. When something comes up that is not pleasing to Him, then you repent; ask for mercy and forgiveness; ask Him to take it away from you completely and permanently {forsake your sins}; forgive the ones that have hurt you; ask for forgiveness from the ones you have hurt. If you are not able to get to them, their spirit will get it while you are in the presence of God resting in Him.
May the Spirit of God be with you on these High Holy Days to lead you into atonement {deliverance, redemption, emancipation, release, etc.}.
